Each year it attracts the highest calibre of entries from global brand owners, brand ambassadors and independent bar consultants. Each year the theme changes on rotation – in 2008 we looked for the best After Dinner recipes. Watch this space for details of the 2009 event The Drinks International Travel Retail Excellence AwardsNow in their second year, the Drinks International Travel Retail Excellence Awards have been created to recognize the importance of the drinks sector in duty-free retailing. They are the only travel retail awards exclusively for drinks. There are nine awards categories and entries are welcomed from all area of the drinks industry – spirits, wines and beers, suppliers and buyers. The awards centre on the annual TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes where the winners will be announced at the Drinks International Travel Retail party.
Drinks International Spirits ChallengesFor the second year, we will produce specialized spirit Challenges throughout the year, in which the world’s finest spirits brands compete in a blind tasting competition. This year we will hold five events focusing on Rum, Vodka, Gin, Tequila and Whiskies of the World. Here an authoritative panel of highly respected spirits experts will blind taste each brand and award medals to reveal the best spirit from each category. Drinks International’s Spirits Challenges are a great vehicle for brands to boost their profile through excellent publicity and recognition throughout the drinks industry.
