Pernod rolls out Redbreast 12 Cask Strength to US

Pernod Ricard will release Irish whiskey Redbreast 12 Cask Strength to the US in February, following the expression’s September launch to Ireland, Germany and France.

The expression is described as a “natural, full-flavoured, non-chill filtered” version of Redbreast 12 which has been bottled at cask strength.

The pot still whisky - which is produced at the Middleton Distillery by the group’s Irish whiskey arm Irish Distillers – is priced at $65 for 75cl and carries an ABV of 57.7%.

Wayne Hartunian, vice president of whiskeys and cognac for Pernod Ricard USA, said: “Redbreast is the fastest growing super-premium Irish whiskey in the US and the brand’s organic popularity and growth present the ideal platform for driving further innovation within this growing segment.

“The super premium segment represents a great opportunity for growth as more high-end single malt, bourbon and blended whisky drinkers are looking to expand their repertoire and Irish whiskey is the logical next step.”
