CEDC pairs with Beam in Poland

Central European Distribution Corporation (CEDC) has signed a five-year exclusive agreement to distribute Beam brands in Poland.

The deal will see Jim Beam and Maker’s Mark bourbons, Sauza tequila and Teacher’s scotch distributed by CEDC.

The deal follows CEDC’s agreement with La Martiniquaise in December to distribute Label 5 whisky in Russia.

William Carey, president and CEO of CEDC, said the deal was recognition of the “value of CEDC’s strong sales platform in the overall brown and white spirits market in Poland”.

He said: “We look forward to working further with the premium, internationally recognised brands which fit in our well-balanced portfolio of vodka, brown and white spirits and wine products.”

“We are looking forward to further development of Jim Beam’s consumer base in Poland and we see opportunities for the world’s number one bourbon to continue its expansion in the fast growing whisky market in Poland”

According to CEDC, the Polish whisky market has almost tripled in five years and in 2011 reached about 10 million litres, making it one of the top 25 whisky markets in the world (Nielsen, 2011, 12 months ended November).
