UK: Flame Runner makes Olympic bow

Adnams, the Suffolk brewer, has announced the launch of a limited edition beer to commemorate the London 2012 Olympics.

Flame Runner is made from ingredients sourced from each of the competing continents, malted barley from Europe, hops from Australasia and spices from Africa, Asia and the Americas.

It is described by the brewer as “a clean and refreshing” 3.9% pale ale with a “spicy citrus and subtle ginger aroma” and a "malty backbone balanced by an orange peel bitterness".

Emma Hibbert, head of corporate affairs at Adnams, said: “Here at Adnams, we’ve really been getting into the spirit of things with the launch of Flame Runner, our recent Jubilee beer – Diamond Ale and two new lower alcohol beers in Sole Star and Ginger Beer which are perfect for summer celebrations.”

Adnams Flame Runner is available in cask in selected UK outlets. Five-litre mini casks are also available to purchase online at www.adnams.co.uk and in Adnams’ Cellar & Kitchen stores, priced £15.99 each.
