Glenfiddich vintage to launch in travel retail

World Duty Free Group, William Grant & Sons Travel Retail and Heathrow airport have collaborated to produce a UK travel retail exclusive Glenfiddich vintage to celebrate 2012.

The Glenfiddich Millennium Vintage Limited Edition single malt whisky was distilled and placed into casks during the Millennium celebrations of 2000 and bottled in 2012. Casks were selected by Brian Kinsman, the Glenfiddich malt master. This new vintage was unveiled at the World Duty Free stores in London Heathrow and is to be rolled out to all World Duty Free stores across the UK.

David de Miguel, global head of liquor at World Duty Free Group said: “Priced at £39.99 this single malt whisky will be available to all our customers, whether they are travelling within or outside the EU, so we anticipate achieving impressive sales results and significant awareness for the brand.”

As part of its support activity, Heathrow is holding an inaugral competition on the LHR Facebook page, offering the first bottle of the vintage, signed by Kinsman, as the prize. In addition, the 150,000 participants of the World Duty Free WorldPoints scheme can take part in an online competition to win a trip for two to the Glenfiddich Distillery from anywhere in the UK. During the activation period, all airside digital media in Heathrow terminals will feature animated adverts for the vintage, while the Heathrow Express will highlight Glenfiddich Millennium Vintage on all seatbacks.

Gordon Ramsay Plane Food restaurant at Heathrow Terminal 5 will feature a special cocktail, starter and dessert all created using the Glenfiddich Millennium Vintage.
