The results were first announced at The World’s 50 Best Bars in London last month, an event which saw 36 of the world's top 50 bars and 400 bar industry professionals come together. It was hosted by Dale DeGroff and Drinks International's Lucy Britner. 

The 2012 poll was conducted by World's 50 Best Bars editor Lucy Britner, along with Camper English in the US. The bar features were written by Tom Sandham and Lucy Britner.
