Distell expands Nederburg portfolio

Distell has announced the addition of a new wine range - 56  Hundred - to its Nederburg wine portfolio.

Distell said the new wines have been specifically developed with the UK consumer in mind, based on popularity and demand for these grape varietals.

The 56 Hundred wine brand is said to be a celebration of the company’s original wine master, Philippus Wolvaart, who invested 5600 guilders for the land he was to name Nederburg in 1791.

The Pinot Grigio – developed under the direction of cellar master, Rasvan Macici – is described as a ‘crisp wine with a touch of fruit and a fresh, lingering finish’. The Pinot Noir is ‘a soft textured, light and fruity red wine bursting with strawberries and cherry flavours, laced with spice.’

The Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio collection will be available in the grocery channel from late August at a recommended retail price of £7.99.
