Gruppo Campari rolls out Glen Grant 50YO

Gruppo Campari has rolled out its Glen Grant 50 Year Old from travel retail to domestic markets.

Having debuted in travel retail outlets in Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul, Shanghai, Beijing and Taipei lat year, the half-century-old single malt scotch has been released to global markets, including the UK, where it is exlusively available through The Whisky Exchange.

Priced at £3,500 for 20cl or £8,850 for 70cl, only 150 bottles have been released globally.

The spirit, which came off the still in 1963, was made by Dennis Malcolm, who later became master distiller.

Dennis Malcolm said: “Only time measures our pursuit of perfection. Maturation cannot be rushed. Like people, casks mature at their own pace. I have protected and cared for this barrel for 50 years, letting it breathe and patiently waiting for the magic and interaction of whisky and wood.”

The bottles are presented in engraved, hand-blown crystal glass decanters,  finished with the number 50 in 18-carat gold lettering.
