Loch Lomond Group brings Claret Jug to London
Published:  19 April, 2018

The Loch Lomond Group has launched its largest global travel retail initiative with World Duty Free at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5 this month.

The company is showcasing its Loch Lomond Whiskies and Glen Scotia single malt brands in an interactive space until 24 April, 2018.

André de Almeida, managing director of global travel retail at Loch Lomond Group, said: “We continue to work in partnership with World Duty Free to establish our Loch Lomond Whiskies and Glen Scotia single malts on a global stage.

“In March, we released an exclusive Loch Lomond Inchmurrin Single Cask bottling to celebrate the 10th anniversary of London Heathrow Terminal 5, which sold out in less than a week.”

Loch Lomond Whiskies recently announced a five-year partnership with The Open, golf’s original championship, which will expose globally the distiller’s full range of single malts.

The space in World Duty Free is called ‘The Spirit of The Open’, where travellers will see the Claret Jug trophy alongside the company’s whisky portfolios.

There is also a competition in place for customers to get a chance to win tickets to The Open at Carnoustie Golf Club in July.

Founded in 1814, Loch Lomond Whiskies evolved from the Littlemill distillery which was created in 1772, making it one of the oldest whisky distilleries in the world.

The Loch Lomond distillery has more than one type of still within the site, meaning it is one of the few distilleries worldwide that can produce unusual whiskies such as a blended single malt.

The Loch Lomond Group also owns the Glen Scotia distillery in Campbeltown, which has a history dating back to 1832 and is one of three distilleries remaining in the area.

Loch Lomond Group’s partnership with World Duty Free follows on from the successful introduction of the company’s GTR Scotch whisky range at all 16 World of Whiskies outlets in airports throughout the UK. The whiskies available include the recently launched Loch Lomond Inchmoan 10 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky exclusively for GTR.
