Tomatin whisky reports 25% turnover boost

Highland Scotch whisky distillery, Tomatin near Inverness, has announced a turnover increase of almost 25% over the past financial year.

Between the period from 31 December 2016 to 31 December 2017, turnover grew by 24.6% to £18m and profit before tax also increased by 14% to just over £4m.

 

The turnover for the distillery’s visitor centre surpassed £1m mark for the first time since opening and managing director Stephen Bremner, said: “In the past few years, we have gained a solid foothold in the international whisky market, particularly with our branded products.”

 

Important markets for Tomatin include, the UK, US and Germany, where the company reported its strongest sales. 

Bremner added: “Following a couple years of decline, the whisky market is back on its feet and Tomatin is steadily seducing the new wave of whisky drinkers – not just on Scottish soil, but globally.”

 

Sat on the Speyside border, Tomatin is one of the largest distillers in the Highlands. In addition to its portfolio of core Tomatin products, the distillery also producers Cù Bòcan, a lightly peated whisky, and a range of blended whiskies.
