Fiery spirit Zwack has launched in the US.

The drink is renowned for being the national shot of Hungary. Izabella Zwack, whose family carried the 200 year old secret recipe with it when they fled communism in 1948, said: “Zwack has been the national shot of Hungary for more than 200 years, proudly representing the independent spirit of the Hungarian people.

“We’re excited to share this great symbol of Hungarian culture with the United States.”

It is best served ice-cold, straight up as a shot, and has a bold-bite and slight citrus finish.

Zwack is produced in Budapest, Hungary, and is a 40% ABV liqueur (80 proof) that is available in 50 mL, 750 mL, and 1 L bottles at a suggested retail price of $23.99 for a 750 ML size.  It is distributed nationally by Diageo North America.

Zwack US brand manager Joseph Cannavo said:  “We’re confident that American adult consumers will find Zwack to be a welcome addition here in the United States as well.”
