Italy’s first Lecce Cocktail Week to arrive this May
The South of Italy’s first-ever cocktail week is set to launch in Lecce from 15-21 May, where the city's best bars will team up with drinks brands to showcase the Leccese cocktail scene.
The week-long celebration will feature a special LCW menu in each participating bar, featuring cocktails at discounted prices ranging from €5 - €8. Laurus, Quanta Basta, 300 Mila, Al Baffo, AlVentuno, and Palazzo BN are just a few of the bars participating with events including masterclasses and other experiences.
Francesca Cullen and Rosie Lees, founders of Lecce Cocktail Week, said: "Having looked after a number of projects in Puglia and witnessed the evolution of tourism, we recognised the potential of the region and were inspired to launch Lecce Cocktail Week. As lovers of the beautiful and easily walkable city, we knew it would be the perfect location, especially with its stunning weather and array of exceptional bars."
In addition to the participating bars, the event will feature a hidden 1930s themed speakeasy called ‘The Library’, with a different sponsor each night, overlooking Piazza Sant’Oronzo where guests can enjoy live jazz music and cocktail specials.
Key sponsors for the week include Cadello, Iovem, Compagnia dei Caraibi, Ilegal Mezcal, Maison Ferrand Plantation Rum, J Rose Gin, Duck Dive Gin, Geco Gin and Linciano. LCW will also see bar takeovers by Tony Pescatori, of London’s Alma by Sucre, and Italian bartender Bruno Vanzan.
