Eighth edition of The World Atlas of Wine launches

Publisher Mitchell Beazley has announced that the Eighth Edition of The World Atlas of Wine, will be published in October. price: £45.

Compiled by world-renowned wine writers, Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson MW, the atlas has grown in size to 416 pages and 22 new maps have been added. 

Since the publication of the first edition in 1971, The World Atlas of Wine is widely recognised as an essential and most authoritative wine reference. It has has sold 4.7 million copies worldwide.

Mitchell Beazley, part of the Octopus Publishing Group, which acquired world rights to the atlas from Caradoc King at United Agents, says the text has been given a complete overhaul by master of wine Robinson and Johnson.

The collective quote from both states: “This update must be the most substantial ever since: a) the wine world is changing (and expanding) so much and b): it has dominated our lives since January 2018 and it’s not over yet.”
