Diageo North America appoints presidents

The US Spirits division of Diageo North America has appointed Mark Hubler as president of Open States and Greg Armstrong president of Control States and National Accounts.

In their roles they will be responsible for “the development and execution of the company’s commercial strategy for spirits in the US”.

Hubler will lead Diageo’s teams for Open States (states where alcohol is sold and distributed privately but regulated by the state) having joined the company back in 1999.

Most recently Hubler held the title of president of Control States (where the state is responsible for retail and/or wholesale distribution of alcohol sales) and National Accounts. He has 30 years' experience in consumer product companies.

In addition to leading Control States and National Accounts, Armstrong will also represent Diageo as liaison to the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association [NABCA] and serve as a member of the Control State Industry Steering Committee.

Armstrong started with Diageo over 25 years ago, and over the past six years has operated as general manager for Diageo’s Central Region.

Both will serve on Diageo’s North America Executive Team, reporting to Larry Schwartz, president of Diageo USA.

Schwartz said: “Mark and Greg are proven leaders with a long history at Diageo; they know our business in depth and most importantly, they are driven by performance.

“I know they look forward to building on their strong relationships with distributors, brokers, regulators and other stakeholders that are so crucial to our business.”
