Glazer’s appoints COO and VP

US distributors Glazer’s has appointed Robert Swartz as chief operating officer and Phil Meacham as executive vice president malt beverages.

Swartz, who will continue to report to Glazer’s president and CEO Sheldon “Shelly” Stein, was previously managing director and partner of Hicks Equity Partners.

In 2010 he served as CEO of Hicks Acquisition Company II and from 2007-2009 he was senior vice president of Hicks Acquisition Company I.

Swartz has also operated in various positions at Centex Corporation, a New York stock exchange home building company, serving as senior vice president of strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions and as chairman and chief executive officer of Centex HomeTeam Services.

Stein said: "Since joining Glazer's, Rob has had an immediate and positive impact on our organization, and he is being charged with leading all of our functional teams as we build a successful platform at Glazer's for the next 100 years."

Meacham joined Glazer's in 1999, having served as Waco branch manager, general manager malt beverages, and vice president malt beverages for Texas.

He also operated as Glazer’s senior vice president operations and finance for the state of Texas before arriving at the General Office in 2007, where he held the roles of executive vice president operations and finance, and chief operating officer.

Prior to joining Glazer's, he was the general manager of Brazos Valley Coors from 1993-1999.
