New WSET wine school in Tuscany

James Cluer MW of Fine Vintage has announced the opening of a Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) - approved wine school in Tuscany, in partnership with the Consorzio Chianti Classico.

The Consorzio Chianti Classico, is responsible for protecting the region, maintaining quality standards and promoting the wines

On February 19 2013 in Florence, WSET CEO Ian Harris, will open officially the school.

Clue, whose Fine Vintage company is based in Vancouver, Canada, said the WSET courses will run in an old convent in Radda, in the heart of Tuscany. Restored and transformed into the Chianti Classico Academy, the convent is a “new multifunctional centre with a wine bar, a modern and contemporary art exhibition area, and a wine store”.

“We are honored to be working with such a prestigious organisation as the Consorzio Vino Chianti Classico," said Cluer. "This is one of the truly great wine regions in the world. It is a privilege for us to be delivering WSET wine courses in such a historic region with the Consorzio.

In January 2012 Fine Vintage was awarded the Riedel trophy for WSET Educator of the Year.
