India heads for London International Wine Fair

India is to host a generic pavilion at the London International Wine Fair.

The Indian government body – APEDA – confirmed its presence and wines from four wineries: Mercury Wines, Krsma Estates, Fratelli Wines and Luca Wines, will be available to taste. The stands will be located at entrance S3 (E50, E51, E52, E53, E54).

Veral Pancholia, director at Mercury Winery, said: “Our main objective for attending the LIWF is to find a distributor/ importer for our Aryaa brand in the UK. We are also keen to become a supplier of private labels & brands for top chefs and restaurants chains both in UK and EU; there is a growing trend for this, particularly in Indian restaurants.”

Show director, Ross Carter said: “India’s presence this year just underlines the “discovery” nature of the show. For wines from countries developing their export markets, the LIWF is an essential platform to one of the World’s most important market places; the one time in the year that they can meet buyers from all sectors of the industry.”
