Champagne Canard-Duchêne announces half-year results

Champagne Canard-Duchêne has announced a 2.54% volume increase between January and July 2014. 

In the first half of 2014, the region of Champagne shipped 110 million bottles – a 1.4% increase in comparison to the same period last year.

According to the Comité Interprofessionnel du Vin de Champagne, exports in Europe and the rest of the world increased 6.9%, while France’s shipments declined 3.1% compared to last year due to the challenging economic climate.

In France, Canard-Duchêne has seen a 5.3% sales growth in the off-trade, confirming its position as number two with a 5.8% market share. The on-trade year on year shipments in France increased by 16%.

Canard-Duchêne’s exports in Europe and the rest of the world were up by 17% at the end of July 2014 versus 2013. The company reported continued growth particularly in the USA, UK and Australia.
