González Byass buys Rías Baixas winery

González Byass has announced that it has bought the Rías Baixas winery, Pazos de Lusco.

With the purchase of a new bodega in the DO Rías Baixas, González Byass strengthens its position as one of Spain’s leading wine producers.

The acquisition of Pazos de Lusco means the González Byass ‘Family of Wine’ is now present in nine of the most important Spanish wine producing regions: Rioja, Jerez, Cadiz, Cava, Penedés, Rueda, Somontano, Castilla and Rías Baixas.

Rías Baixas is one of the most recognised white wine-producing Spanish DO’s globally and within the Spanish domestic market.

Pazos de Lusco, located in Salvaterra do Miño, is known for its quality wines within the Rías Baixas DO. The vineyard is planted using the traditional pergola system, which allows the Albariño grape to thrive in the DO’s climate.
