Chris Hancock joins Wine Intelligence

Wine Intelligence has announced the appointment of Chris Hancock as its chairman, following David Scotland’s retirement.

Hancock (pictured) is a qualified chartered accountant with 25 years of experience in corporate finance. He is currently partner and CFO of Farm Street LLP, non-executive director at Inspecs Holdings and non-executive director of Icelandic Water Holdings. Previously Hancock spent many years in senior corporate finance roles in the City, most recently with JPMorgan Cazenove.

CEO Lulie Halstead said: “Chris has worked with us on and off for a number of years, chiefly on the corporate finance side, and brings a deep knowledge of business growth in an international context.”

David Scotland has had a long career in the global alcoholic beverages industry, including roles at John Harvey & Sons, five years at IDV heading up Cinzano’s international business and Allied-Domecq as president of Europe.

Since leaving Allied-Domecq, he has been a non-executive director of several FTSE-100 companies, and remains Chairman of Thomas Preston & Associates, one of the UK’s leading business coaching firms.

Lulie Halstead added: “We owe a huge debt of gratitude to David for his decade of service to Wine Intelligence. His thoughtful and timely advice has allowed us to grow the business into a global leader in market research for our category, and his expertise in people development has positively influenced a whole generation of Wine Intelligence staff. We will miss him greatly and of course wish him well.”
