Brugal 1888 Unveils The Sipping Society
Brugal 1888 has recruited the founding members of its first advocacy programme – The Sipping Society.
The Sipping Society will empower industry experts, giving them unique access to rum masterclasses, workshops, exclusive VIP experiences and an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals – sharing preferred serves, inspiration and knowledge.
Brugal handpicked the 44 members from the UK, USA, Italy, Spain and the Nordics. As the founding members, they will be invited to compete in the inaugural Nearly Neat global cocktail competition, an opportunity to showcase their creative bartending skills in front of an expert judging panel.
In a global first, the Nearly Neat competition will focus and explre the possibilities of almost-neat cocktails, tasking the founding members with creating serves using minimal ingredients to enrich the delicious, warmth of the Brugal 1888 liquid. The concept was inspired by the growing community of rum-sipping enthusiasts.
Two finalists from each country will be selected to proceed to the next round for the opportunity of a lifetime, where they will travel to the Dominican Republic – the home of Brugal – for an immersive experience of the brand’s history and heritage. The visit will culminate with all ten bartenders competing against each other for the title of Brugal 1888’s ‘Sipping Society Maestro’ with the winning cocktail becoming the Brugal 1888 signature serve.
