The online magazine was co-founded by Dave Broom four years ago and edited since by Becky Paskin to become a respected channel for scotch whisky.

According to a press release, Speciality Drinks Group “intends to find another home” for the website’s content.

The statement read: “Despite great support from the industry, we have not been able to find a business model that is viable. We have put considerable investment into Scotchwhisky.com over the last four years, however, the current costs of running the business are simply not sustainable.

“We would like to thank our readers and all our contributors who have brought to life our passion for whisky through Scotchwhisky.com. Most of all, our editor Becky Paskin, contributing editor and co-founder Dave Broom and contributing editor Richard Woodard for helping whisky lovers around the world understand and enjoy their whisky more than ever.”
