Waterworth named new editor of DI
Drinks International has announced the appointment of Shay Waterworth as its new editor to replace the outgoing Martin Green from April onwards.
Waterworth joined the magazine in 2017 and won the Alan Lodge Young International Drinks Writer of the Year award in 2019.
“Shay joined Drinks International five years ago as a reporter and has quickly climbed the ranks,” said Justin Smith, publisher of Drinks International.
“A journalist with an eye for news and an award-winning feature writer, he has become the indispensable engine room of both Drinks International magazine and website.
“Now as editor, Shay's leadership sees Drinks International enter an exciting phase. At Agile Media we look forward to what he will bring to the role.”
Green is leaving Agile Media to pursue a freelance career after spending 10 years at the company, first as editor of Drinks Retailing and then as editor of Drinks International.
Waterworth added: "Martin has been a loyal servant to Agile over the past decade and since taking on the role of editor has taken Drinks International to a new level with his expert analysis and in-depth knowledge of the industry. He's also given me great guidance over the past couple of years and I wish him the best for the future."
Drinks International is owned by Agile Media and as well as acting official media partner for The World’s 50 Best Bars, produces annual supplements including The World’s Most Admired Wine Brands, Annual Brands Report and Bar World 100 among others.
