Wakefield Wines go carbon neutral

The company believes it is  the first to reach this status,  based on a life cycle assessment model compliant to ISO14044. Wakefield developed the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) model to measure the carbon dioxide or equivalent emissions at every step in the lifecycle of the Wakefield Eighty Acres range of wines.

The lifecycle begins in the vineyard before harvesting and ultimately ends with the consumption, disposal and recycling of the finished packaging. This analysis was then independently audited and approved by RMIT University. Wakefield has selected Carbon Neutral as its partner to offset the sum of carbon dioxide emissions through a ‘range of domestic projects’.

Point of sale material for the Eighty Acres wines - to include bottle stickers, carton stickers, neck boxes, shelf talkers and A4 header cards – all of which have had their carbon emissions off set.
