Moscow Bar Show

The third Moscow Bar Show returns on October 1 – 3at the IEC Crocus Expo.

Organisers PIR Events, says the professional trade show brings together bartending talent and premium drinks brands from across Russia and the CIS region.

PIR Events runs the Moscow Bar Show in partnership with Andy Bishop, who formerly published Theme magazine and ran the London Bar Show.

With Russia recently experiencing a total ban on all consumer advertising of alcohol, the show gives brands an opportunity to engage with local distributors and promote themselves to the region’s hospitality sector.

The event’s main stage features a programme of independent presentations and demonstrations from some leading bartenders and drinks experts, many appearing in Russia for the first time.

The 2013 programme will include: David Wondrich, Don Lee (PDT) and the Dead Rabbit from the US, Anistatia Miller & Jared Brown (Mixellany), Esther Medina (Opium, Soho) and Luis Simoes (Ritz London) from the UK.

Once again, Moscow’s Bartender Brothers bring some local flavour to the programme while London’s Paul Tvorog (Bar Bohemia, Shoreditch) joins forces with Moscow’s Bek Narzi (Russian Cocktail Club). Taiwan’s leading bartender Aki Wang also brings Asian flavours to Moscow for the first time.

The Moscow Bar Show also features two large demonstration bars where brands can promote and provide sample products and cocktails. These sessions, in Russian and English, feature local and international brand ambassadors along with star bartenders and category specialists.

The MBS Cup – a bartender competition for all Russia/CIS bartenders, returns in 2013. Run by Moscow Bar Show in association with Moscow’s Bartender Brothers, it focuses on the best bar teams. Three representatives from each competing bar will work together to present their bar and highlights from their drinks menu in front of a panel of international judges. The winning team wins a trip to London to tour the city’s best bars.
