Review: Fibar Cocktail Bar International Fair

Fibar Cocktail Bar International Fair in Valladolid hailed its second bar show a success following a more London focus in 2014. 

The three-day Spanish show (November 11-14) at La Cupula del Milenio hosted a series of seminars for the local and international bartending community.

On the second day, Jesse Estes, Tequila Ocho UK brand ambassador discussed ‘Agave News’. The Social Company group bar manager Gareth Evans and Bacardi Legacy ‘Most Promising UK finalist’, Matt Fairhurst of City Social spoke to crowds about their ethos at Atherton’s establishments and called for ‘No More Martini Glasses’.

The team from Bar Nola and Milk and Honey both held talks on the history of their bars’ success and house rules.

Chris Edwardes and Amanda Blanch held a presentation for the first time in their illustrious careers on ‘London From 70s to Today’s Spain’, charting their history from London to Brighton to their current venture Hidden, Ibiza.

Rebekkah Dooley, formerly of Callooh Callay, spoke on the ‘Cost and Time Effective Marketing Solutions for Bars, Bartenders and Brands’ and how to make the most of free marketing in the bar industry.

Fibar Cocktail Bar International Fair also held seminars by Heinz Kaiser, Jorge Balbontin and Joao Eusebius over the course of three days.
