DISCUS calls on Trump to aid exports
The Distilled Spirits Council has said it looks forward to working with the Trump administration to expand access for US agricultural exports, including distilled spirits, in foreign markets.
The national trade association representing producers and marketers of distilled spirits sold in the US, argues distilleries across the country benefit greatly from improved access to foreign consumers.
A statement from DISCUS read: “US distilled spirits exports more than doubled over the past decade, reaching almost $1.6 billion in 2015, and generated thousands of local manufacturing and farming jobs.
“Bilateral and multilateral trade negotiations offer an important – and in some cases the only – means to ensure our nation’s distillers, small and large, are able to gain access and compete in foreign markets.”
